A sweet sweet baby shower

In honor of little Miss P’s first birthday, I thought I would share some photos from her baby shower.  It is very hard for me to believe this was over a year ago already.

It started with the invitations, for which I drew inspiration from the sweet nursery that Coco had put together for her baby girl.  Then I just had to put the whale from the invite onto the cake.   I also made some chocolate cupcakes and gave them two flavours of buttercream, peanut butter and raspberry.

When planning baby showers and other parties I enjoy having some sort of organized game, but I try to find something I or all the attendees haven’t already played.  This can be a tough task but, I came upon Baby Price Is Right, and I was sold.  Check out the instructions here – http://www.bellybelly.com.au/pregnancy/baby-shower-games

It also doubles as a gift if you buy all of the items on your list.  After the game you can give them to the mom to be.  Make sure to have a piece of paper, I prefer to use card stock, that way if they don’t have a hard surface to write on its still doable, and some freshly sharpened pencils for each person.  Placed in a cute jar with coordinating ribbon adds to the decore.   Other decorations we had were, wooden block letters at the dollar store, spray painted and then covered the front with fabric that matched the invitations.

A huge thank you to my aunty, Ava, for hosting the shower at her home, decorating and feeding the gang.

Thanks Coco for having such a wonderful baby girl!  Oh, and Coco may be doing some blog posts here soon! She is super crafty and artsy and when the two of us start cooking up ideas they kind of explode all over the place.  It’s fun and I thought it would be great to share it with the rest of you.
